Process & Shipping

This guideline outlines best practices for handling prescription drugs traded on the platform 1SaleRx, which connects verified pharmacies.

Important Legal Disclaimer:  Shipping prescription drugs in the US is strictly regulated by the FDA, DEA, and state laws. Only DEA-registered entities (e.g., licensed pharmacies) may ship controlled substances or prescription medications. Individuals or unlicensed parties cannot legally ship or receive these items via mail. Always verify your registration status, obtain proper prescriptions or authorizations for interstate shipments. Non-compliance can result in severe penalties, including fines or imprisonment. Consult legal counsel or the FDA/DEA for specific scenarios.

Packing Prescription Drugs

General Packing Steps:
  • Video Documentation: Sellers should preferably record a video of the packing process, capturing the verification, packing, and sealing steps to provide evidence of compliance and condition for 1SaleRx dispute resolution.
  • Verify Product: Confirm the drugs match the 1SaleRx transaction details (e.g., NDC codes, lot numbers, expiration dates). Include a copy of the invoice and prescription (if applicable) inside the package.
  • Use Original or Compliant Containers: Keep medications in their original pharmacy-dispensed bottles or tamper-evident packaging labeled with the drug name, strength, expiration date, and patient instructions.
  • Secure Inner Packaging: Wrap each bottle in bubble wrap or foam to prevent breakage. Use dividers for multiple items. Seal in a watertight plastic bag to protect against leaks or moisture.
  • Outer Packaging: Select a sturdy corrugated cardboard box sized to fit contents snugly (no more than 2 inches of empty space). Line with absorbent material if liquids are involved. Do not forget properly seal the package.
  • Labeling: Affix a shipping label with full sender/receiver details, including complete addresses and contact numbers. Include handling instructions like "Do Not Freeze" or "Keep Dry".
  • Quality Check: Weigh and measure the package. Inspect for damage or loose seals before finalizing.

Special Rules for Refrigerated Products (Cold Chain Items)
  • Temperature-Controlled Packaging: Use validated insulated cold chain boxes (e.g., foam-lined shippers with a thermal rating for 48–72 hours). Pre-condition the box at 36–46°F for 24 hours.
  • Refrigerants: Include FDA-approved gel packs or dry ice. Position refrigerants around (not on top of) products to avoid direct contact or freezing. For 36–46°F shipments, use phase-change materials that hold temperature without freezing the contents.
  • Monitoring Devices: Enclose a calibrated temperature logger to record conditions throughout transit. Include a backup indicator like a color-changing label that alerts if temperatures exceed thresholds.
  • Sealing and Testing: Vacuum-seal inner bags if humidity-sensitive. Test the full pack out in a simulated environment (e.g., 24-hour hold at ambient temperature) to confirm stability.

Shipping Prescription Drugs with FedEx

FedEx is the designated courier for 1SaleRx shipments, offering specialized healthcare services for pharmaceuticals. Only verified shippers (e.g., via FedEx Healthcare Solutions) can use their network for prescriptions, with strict adherence to FDA/DEA rules.
  • Service Selection: Choose FedEx Priority Overnight for shipments, as recommended by 1SaleRx, to ensure delivery by 10:30 AM the next business day (or 12:00 PM for some rural areas). For non refrigerated products following options are available: FedEx Ground and FedEx Express. Refrigerated items require ONLY FedEx Priority Overnight.
  • Tracking: When prescription drugs are being shipped, 1SaleRx provides a FedEx tracking number for your order. Click the Tracking Number link to track your package on the FedEx website. We do not permit using your own FedEx account to ship a package.
  • Drop-Off: Drop off packages at FedEx Office locations designated for healthcare shipments. Do not use FedEx Drop Boxes for prescription drugs.

Unpacking Prescription Drugs

  • Video Documentation: Buyers should preferably record a video of the unpacking process, capturing the condition of the package, verification of contents, and any visible damage or discrepancies for 1SaleRx dispute resolution.
  • Initial Inspection: Visually check the outer box for damage, tampering, or temperature indicators (e.g., logger alerts). Note any discrepancies on the delivery receipt and contact 1SaleRx support immediately if issues arise.
  • Documentation Review: Match contents to the 1SaleRx invoice and shipping manifest. Verify expiration dates, lot numbers, and NDC codes.
  • Storage: Place unpacked drugs in compliant storage (e.g., locked cabinets for controlled substances). Log receipt details in your inventory system.
  • Reporting: For 1SaleRx transactions, upload unpacking confirmation photos/docs and video (if recorded) to the platform to verify receipt and support dispute resolution.
By following these steps, you minimize risks and ensure compliance with 1SaleRx's secure processes.
Always prioritize patient safety and regulatory adherence.
